The October Meeting of the Society

This took the form of a three way interclub with Dartford CBS and Gravesend Northfleet & Swanscombe CBS. A great evening was had by all with some 50 plus members and guests in attendance. There were a total of  32 Exhibitors each exhibiting up to 4 birds each. A grand total of 123 birds were benched, made up of  43 Canaries, 20 British Birds, 27 Foreign Birds and 33 Budgerigar. The evening resulted in a win for Maidstone (159 Points), Dartford CBS (91 Points) Gravesend Northfleet & Swanscombe CBS (28 Points). Maidstone Members would here by like to thank the members of both Dartford & Gravesend for a most enjoyable evening.

Young Stock Table Show

The August meeting was an all variety young stock table show which was well supported by the member with over 80 exhibits on display Mr. Fred Wright judged the birds and awarded the following as best in each section.

Barry Butcher – Best Foreign

Paul Sawyer – Best Border

Malcolm Barber – Best Budgie

 

Interclub with Dartford, Home

The recent September meeting took the form of an Interclub with our guest Dartford C.B.S. It was well attended by both clubs and a good social evening. There was a total of 74 birds benched.

The main winnings were:

Best Foreign – Don Gray (Dartford)

Best Zebra Finch – Keith Simms (Dartford)

Best Budgie – Roy Rowlands (Maidstone)

Best British Don Pascoe (Maidstone)

Best Fife – Alan Todd (Dartford)

Best Gloster – Bill Tucker (Maidstone)

Best Border – Ron Baker (Maidstone)

Best New Colour – Ken Shelton (Maidstone)

The overall result was a win for Dartford C.B.S. with 99 points to Maidstone’s 82 Points.

 

PR  event at the Birds and Country Wildlife show.

Representatives attended this show at The Friars, Aylesford, Kent, after a good weekend viewing other vibrant stands and having talks with other bird keepers, it has been decided to attend the same event next year, the date is still to be confirmed by the event organisers.
